Introduction to Thunders AI

Written by Ines

Thunders AI is what gets your testing work done. Describe what you need in plain language, and it creates, edits, troubleshoots, and manages your tests, investigates failed runs, and reports bugs.

Where Thunders AI lives

Thunders AI is available in three places:

In the Thunders AI tab

Create test cases and test plans from a prompt, ticket, or spec.

In the test case editor

Edit and refine the test case you have open.

In a test run

Ask about results or debug a failure.

What you can do with it

Create

  • Create web, mobile, and API test cases from a prompt, a ticket, a live URL, or an upload (PDF spec, CSV of test data, a screenshot).

  • Mix step types in one test, for example web and API steps, or mobile and API steps.

  • Create a test plan from requirements.

  • Reuse existing test cases as steps inside new test cases.

Edit

  • Edit and refine an existing test case.

  • Work with every step type Thunders supports: web, API, file comparison, conditional, and visual comparison, etc…

Manage

  • Organize tests into test sets and assign labels.

  • Find and remove duplicate tests.

Investigate and report

  • Ask questions about a failed run and investigate failures from the Test Run View.

  • Report bugs to connected tools such as Jira, Linear, Azure DevOps, ClickUp, Shortcut, or Notion.

Use external context

  • Use any connected integration as context for test creation: Jira, Linear, Confluence, Xray, Notion, ClickUp, Shortcut, and more.

  • Add a custom external MCP server to bring your own tools in as context.

  • Browse live websites with Web Browse to gather page structure before writing a test.
