Overview
As the organization creator (the first admin who has created the organization), you have the ability to permanently delete your organization from Thunders. This action is irreversible and will remove all associated data, including projects, test cases, test runs, environments, integrations, and members.
This feature is intentionally restricted to organizations that do not have any active paid subscriptions, ensuring that deletion cannot happen accidentally on active, paying accounts.
This guide walks you through the deletion process step by step.
Prerequisites
You must be the organization creator. Other roles (Admin, Member) do not have access to this action.
Your organization must not have any active paid subscriptions. Only organizations on a trial or with a cancelled subscription are eligible for deletion.
Who Can Delete an Organization?
Role | Can Delete? |
Organization Creator | Yes (if no active subscription) |
Admin | No |
Member | No |
Only the organization creator will see the Danger Zone section. All other users will not see the delete option at all.
Step-by-Step: How to Delete Your Organization
1. Navigate to Organization Settings
Open the Thunders application and go to Organization Settings.
Select the Organization tab from the sidebar.
2. Locate the Danger Zone
Scroll to the bottom of the Organization overview page.
You will see a Danger Zone section with a "Delete Organization" button.
3. Click Delete Organization
If your organization is eligible (no active subscriptions), click the "Delete Organization" button.
A confirmation dialog will appear.
4. Confirm Deletion by Typing the Organization Name
The confirmation dialog will ask you to type the exact name of your organization to proceed.
The organization name is case-sensitive and must match exactly.
The "Delete" button remains disabled until the name matches.
5. Complete the Deletion
Once you have typed the correct organization name, click "Delete" to confirm.
The organization and all associated data will be permanently deleted.
You will be automatically logged out and redirected to a "We're sorry to see you go" page.
You will receive a “Confirmation email” to confirm the deletion.
